Despite its surreal look, these strips represent the brutal reality of individual and groups that do not accept the existence of those who are considered “different”. It also represents the metaphor known as the “circle of nature”, both through a circular reading of the work and through the circular story of Kallie and Jan.
Kallie is a farmer who dies after eating some carrots poisoned by the Boers. Jan’s father kills him when he discovers that he’s a transvestite. The Boers use the two corpses for a horrible experiment: they are sewn together and frozen….
