The protagonist is a terminal patient; he can barely move or speak but his brain still works. He has one problem: despite his catholic origin, he’s not been a religious person all his life, and now he’s worried about hell. Every religion, every popular tradition both believes in it and fears it.
One day, he’s waiting in a car in front of an electricity generator. Suddenly, the generator comes alive and starts moving, despite being motionless. The man looks at peace with himself, serene, rescued from all sorts of religious calculation. It might be the effect of morphine or just his being weak, but the protagonist keeps seeing the generator in motion. But he can’t tell anyone, otherwise people would think he was crazy.
