Oleg and Sacha are two young Ukrainians who make it to Europe by working on a ship as sailors. As soon as they arrive in Barcelona they get in touch with Ludmila, a childhood friend of theirs who had emigrated five years before. Like all young people in the world, they are full of trust and hope for the future, but Ludmila explains to them that her European dream is not something to be envious of: after some time working as a model, she now finds herself working as a call-girl. Oleg and Sacha request a residence permit, but the procedure turns out to be long and difficult and the two young men end up being exploited as illegal workers. Their paths divide: Oleg, disillusioned and disheartened, enters the criminal network, whereas Sacha decides to carry on trying to live lawfully.
