The heroine of this story leaves her village for Europe, escaping from indigence, war and dictatorship. However, she immediately comes to know the difficulties of a migrant’s life. After a long journey, she arrives not in Europe but in the US: she has no job, gets doors and insults slammed at her. In order to not let her family down, she decides to prostitute herself and send all the money she makes to her family; she knows that her destination is still far.
